Yanaguana Indian Arts Market

A vibrant showcase of Native talent and tradition.

Deliverable:

  • Visual identity

  • Asset library

  • Printed + digital promotional materials

The Yanaguana Indian Arts Market, hosted annually by the Briscoe Western Art Museum, is the only event of its kind in Texas. Over 40 renowned Native American artists showcase and sell their handmade artworks, including quilts, jewelry, carvings, and more. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of performances that offer a glimpse into tribal traditions and contemporary Native culture.

The centerpiece of the visual identity is an interpretation of the legendary Thunderbird. Melding a traditional Native symbol with contemporary flair, the mythical bird soars through the sky. The rising Texas sun is framed by simplified birdlike shapes that seem to guide the star ever upward. Patterns inspired by Native quilts appear throughout.
